Native American Festival at Wickham Park November 9-11

BREVARD COUNTY, Florida -- In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Native Heritage Gathering Inc. and the Indian River Flute Circle will host a Native American music, arts and crafts festival at the Wickham Park amphitheater the weekend of November 9 - 11, 2012.

This event celebrates the culture and heritage of the indigenous peoples of North America through the appreciation of the music of the Native American style flutes and drums, with over 40 vendors selling native style and environmental arts and crafts and food.  The festival will also be hosting a free educational workshop series that focuses on flute playing, history, beading, guitar playing, drumming and much more.

Admission to the festival is free.  Musical performances are scheduled throughout each day, with headliner performances starting in the late afternoon through 10 p.m.  Multiple award-winning musicians from all over the United States will be performing throughout the weekend, including Saturday and Sunday performances by two-time Grammy Award-winning Native American flutist and performer Robert Mirabal.  Other headliner performers include Arvel Bird, Mark Holland, Michael Graham Allen (Coyote Oldman), Scott August, Jan Seiden, Dock Green Silverhawk, Jonny Lipford, and Ed Wind Dancer.
